On August 26, 1920, in a triumph that set precedents in civic engagement that continue to inspire today, the 19th Amendment was certified in the U.S. Constitution. Today, over 100 years after one of the most significant victories in women’s persistent fight for equality was realized, the National Mall will finally honor the great women of American history whose bravery shaped our democracy.
