
Amanda Hunter is a highly accomplished communications strategist whose distinguished career spans the political, nonprofit, and cultural sectors. Recognized nationally for her expertise in advancing women’s representation, Amanda has consistently driven impactful initiatives and shaped public narratives for prominent organizations.
Her leadership journey includes serving as Executive Director of the Barbara Lee Family Foundation and Barbara Lee Political Office, where she worked closely with philanthropic activist Barbara Lee to champion women’s representation. In this pivotal role, Amanda was directly responsible for promoting the Foundation’s mission through comprehensive oversight of all research and communications endeavors.
She previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., America’s first museum of modern art, and as Senior Press Representative at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where she led media relations for high-profile events such as The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and the Kennedy Center Honors. Her diverse experience also includes a tenure as Deputy Communications Director at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the leading trade association for record companies.
