Monumental Ideas FAQs

Submission & Use

How will my submission be used?

YOUR voice could inspire the future design of the Women’s Suffrage National Monument! By sharing your Monumental Idea, your submission may be:

> Featured in the Monumental Ideas Gallery;
> Highlighted on Social Media (follow us on Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn); and
> Showcased in Future Monumental Celebrations!

Your Monumental Ideas have the power to shape history.

Will you use the collected submissions to inspire the future Women’s Suffrage National Monument?

Yes! While we aren’t looking for architectural blueprints, we want you to tell us what you hope future generations will feel or remember when visiting the monument.

What types of submissions do you accept?

We encourage you to upload a drawing, photograph, collage, quote, or other creative expressions that feel meaningful to you. Think about the following prompts: What does women’s suffrage history mean to you? What should future generations feel or remember when they visit this monument?

How will the submitter’s information be displayed?

Featured submissions will include a few brief details about the contributor—including first name, state, age, and/or a short description. These details help showcase the breadth of voices and add context to each submission.

I have additional questions about how my submission may be used. Where can I learn more?

Please refer to our full Terms and Conditions for detailed information about how submissions may be used as part of the Monumental Ideas project.

How do I contact the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation with any questions regarding Monumental Ideas, my submission, or to withdraw a submission?

If you have any questions about the project, your submission, or would like to request that a submission be withdrawn, please feel free to contact us at ideas@womensmonument.org.

When is the deadline for submission to Monumental Ideas?

The deadline for submission is July 4, 2026 at 11:59pmET.

Can I submit more than one idea?

Yes! You can submit as many ideas as you would like.

Can I mail my submission, or do I have to use the online submission page?

All submissions must be submitted through the online submission page at https://womensmonument.org/monumental-ideas-submission/. If you need accommodations for your submission please contact us at ideas@womensmonument.org.

Technical & Support

What file types and sizes are accepted?
Photos should be in .jpg or .png format and no larger than 10MB.

How should I capture a picture of my submission?
For best results, scan your submission and upload it as a .jpg or .png. Taking a photo instead? No problem—just make sure it’s well lit (natural daylight works best), clear and sharp, straight (no angles), and properly oriented so it appears exactly how you want it displayed.

Who can I contact if I have technical issues?
If you have any questions, please contact us at ideas@womensmonument.org. We will respond to your request as soon as possible.

I am visually impaired, can I participate without drawing or sending in a photo?

The goal of Monumental Ideas is for people of all abilities to participate. If you need accommodations for your submission please contact us at ideas@womensmonument.org.

Participation & Engagement

Can I share my submission on social media?
After you have submitted your submission on our website, we invite you to share your submission on social media (be sure to tag @womensmonument and use #Mymonumentalidea) and invite friends, family, and colleagues to participate, too!
