“I heard about this project on NPR while I was driving and an idea came to me. I picture 19 statues of 19 women through the decades since the start of suffrage. 19 women standing in a circle holding hands, through the ages, 1848 dress to present day American women. I can vote because of the sacrifice of these brave women. I stand on the shoulders of giants. 19 for the 19th amendment.”
Our ancestors forged a path for us even though they would not personally enjoy this freedom. What we do now supports the next generation. And the next.
