
Vedet Coleman-Robinson, Ph.D. serves as the president and CEO of the Association of African American Museums (AAAM), a mission-driven nonprofit organization whose members bring to the forefront stories of civil rights and social injustice, chronicle the strides that have been made in those areas and emphasize inequalities that still exist today. As AAAM’s president and CEO, Coleman-Robinson provides resources to ensure members remain resilient and nimble and can serve as beacons of hope in times of social unrest.
Coleman-Robinson was appointed as AAAM’s executive director in 2019 and was named president and CEO in 2024. Under her leadership, AAAM’s membership has increased by over 270%, and more than $6.5 million has been raised for the nonprofit organization.
Coleman-Robinson—a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.—has a Bachelor of Arts in U.S. history from Virginia State University and a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in U.S. history with a minor in public history from Howard University.
