Prepare Your Submission

We need some inspiration! That’s why we’re calling upon YOU to submit your ideas. Contribute your ideas today and inspire the future design of the Women’s Suffrage National Monument.

How to prepare your submission

1

Be Inspired by the Movement!

Before you begin creating your Monumental Idea, learn about the Women's Suffrage Movement and think about what the first monument dedicated to Women's History on the National Mall would mean to you. Then use that information to inspire your creative process!
2

Create Your Idea!

Think big here! Your idea could be a drawing, a sculpture, a painting, a photograph, a collage, a poem— anything that gets you thinking about what you think would inspire the future design of the Monument.

Think about the following prompts: What does women’s suffrage history mean to you? What should future generations feel or remember when they visit this monument? Who are women in your own life or in suffrage history who have inspired you?
3

Submit by July 4!

Once you've completed your idea, take a photo of it and submit it to us by filling out the form on this page by July 4. Your photo should be in .jpg or .png format and no larger than 10MB.
4

Share your Idea!

After submitting your Monumental Idea, spread the word and encourage your friends and family to participate! Share your idea on social media and tag us on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and use #Mymonumentalidea.
